Robert Mueller impanels grand jury focuses on obstruction and financial crimes — Trump

Mueller, appointed special counsel in May following the dismissal of FBI director James Comey, has been investigating since May whether members of the Trump team have lied about links to Russians and whether Trump himself tried to obstruct justice.

Justice told about 9,000 Trump supporters at a rally in Huntington on Thursday night that he will be changing his registration Friday.

Asked for comment on the story presidential lawyer Ty Cobb said the White House would not discuss "specific communications" with Mueller but would "continue to fully cooperate with the Special Counsel".

One of the bills was introduced by Sens.

In recent weeks, the grand jury began its work and was considered to be evidence that Mueller's inquiry isn't going away any time soon.

The revelation that Mueller's investigation is utilizing a grand jury comes as CNN reports that investigators have zeroed in on "Trump and his associates' financial ties to Russia as one of the most fertile avenues for moving their probe forward", with sources saying that the "web of financial ties could offer a more concrete path toward potential prosecution than the broader and murkier questions of collusion in the 2016 campaign".

Neymar has become the most expensive player in soccer history after completing his blockbuster transfer to Paris Saint-Germain from Barcelona for 222 million euros ($262 million).

It is too early to tell if Mueller's decision to form a grand jury will lead to an indictment of Trump or any of his campaign associates.

Trump has repeatedly called Mueller's probe a "witch hunt", and some media reports have indicated the president has looked into ways to undercut or even fire Mueller. But one of the main reasons for holding a grand jury is that it is a powerful investigative tool. "Lock her up!" from the crowd that was another hallmark of his raucous rallies.

North Carolina Senator Thom Tillis said relations with Russia are bad "because they've done bad things". Trump has publicly warned Mueller that his financial dealings should be out of bounds and investigating them would cross a red line. That includes ongoing investigations into former White House national security adviser Michael Flynn and Trump's former campaign chairman, Paul Manafort. His testimony, which lasted for four hours, was the coda to independent counselor Kenneth Starr's investigation into the Whitewater scandal.
